About Y-NOT Racing

We spent years watching. Now it’s our turn.

Y-NOT Racing started with a simple dream: stop watching from the beaches and start racing.

What began as a love for hydroplane racing became a mission to bring family, friends and newcomers into the sport. As truck drivers, nurses, working people, parents, friends and fans, we know what it’s like to spend years watching others chase their dreams.

Now it’s our turn.

Whether we’re turning laps, wrenching in the pits, or introducing someone to their first race weekend, we’re committed to making hydroplane racing more accessible and welcoming for everyone.

For us, racing isn’t just competition.
It’s therapy.
It’s family.
It’s friendship.

It’s the feeling that comes when the throttle goes down and everything else fades away.

That’s Full Throttle Therapy. That’s Y-NOT Racing.

Purpose and direction

Why we’re doing this.

Our Mission

To turn a lifelong love of hydroplane racing into an adventure that brings family, friends, fans and newcomers together — while helping make the sport welcoming, accessible and fun for the next generation of racers.

We want to show people that you don’t have to grow up behind the wheel of a race boat to become part of this sport.

Sometimes you just have to ask: Y-NOT?

Our Vision

To grow from fans on the beach into racers on the water while bringing others along for the ride.

We hope Y-NOT Racing becomes known not simply for how we finish, but for the people we meet, the memories we make, and the new fans and racers we help introduce to inboard hydroplane racing.

From Beaches to Buoys.

Our values

How we want to show up.

These are the standards we want to carry into the shop, the pits, the water and every conversation with someone discovering the sport.

Family First

Racing is better when it’s shared. Family and friends aren’t just spectators — they’re part of the team.

Welcome Everyone

Every racer started somewhere. We want the curious kid at the fence, the lifelong fan, and the person who has never seen a hydroplane before to feel welcome in our pits.

Full Throttle Therapy

Sometimes you need a place where everything else disappears. For us, that’s the water, the pits, the people and the sound of racing. It’s more than competition — it’s our escape.

Earn Every Lap

We’ll ask questions, turn wrenches, learn from experienced racers and put in the work that makes every safe lap possible.

Respect the Sport

Respect the water. Respect the officials. Respect the volunteers. Respect the racers who built this sport before us — and help preserve it for those coming next.

Grow the Sport

We want more people watching, participating, volunteering and eventually climbing into race boats themselves. If our journey inspires someone else to go from fan to racer, we’ve accomplished something bigger than a trophy.

Have Fun

We’re here to compete, but we’re also here to make memories. Racing should bring people together.

The Y-NOT Philosophy

Y-NOT?

  • Why not chase the dream?
  • Why not try something new?
  • Why not become the racer you’ve spent years watching?
  • Why not bring your family along?
  • Why not help someone else discover the sport?
